Within

Within
Avowed before the fragrant vales
Heaven and earth aligned
The lowly mist caresses the dew
The morning shades, their sun to find.

Life inhales its music score
The only apt description
To gaze upon the world anew
Natures hemline lifting.

But all is half if one’s alone
The fullness of its splendour
Is in a brace, to embrace
The ecstasy to render.

I stay the hand, the wandering bard
The prose for her protecting
A gentle touch, a whispered truth
The dawn, the dusk, dejection.

A Candle Meekly

A Candle Meekly

Romantic light, romantic sight
Slow and dancing, poetic bright
Perched upon the polished grain
A noble flicker to darkness drain

Progeny of a bygone time
When quill and word reigned sublime
Miss Austen knew its waltzing hue
Would gladly beat the hearts to woo

Oh noble flame, converse with me
Let my mind and heart agree
That passion’s writ will flow and ebb
As in a brambled, glittering web

As In A Braid Unwoven

As In A Braid Unwoven

Would that I could wake
From the wine weary dreams
And see afresh the rationale
Of purpose over heart.

I have climbed mountains.
Summitless peaks, dawnless,
Duskless, forever in furtive light.
Disposed to the focussed soul.

And basked in the view,
The conquered vista
Life lived, without emotion
Bar the fugitive in my heart.

For there lies the emotion
Of heart and purpose married
Silent amidst the peaks and vales
And forever out of reach.
